An Health facility at Ikot Udo Esang, Awa, Onna L G A, Akwa Ibom State, built by the family of late Dr. Clement Isong’s family and named after the deceased daughter of the family, late Dr. Umo Isong, hosted a medical outreach from the TCIF.
The five day outreach was flagged off on June 12th, 2017 with the commissioning of the facility, it was declared opened for public patronage by the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, His Excellency, Deacon Udom Gabriel Emmanuel.
Free medical services were rendered to the teeming populace that witnessed the commissioning of the medical outreach. This outreach was made possible by Pro-Health team in collaboration with the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Medical Women Association of Nigeria (MWAN), and the Nigeria edical Association (NMA).
The daunting task of bringing quality health to the rural dwellers was appreciated by the impressive turnout to the outreach programme.
The record shows that approximately three thousand eight hundred and ninety seven patients were attended to by seventy five medical personnel, made up of physicians, surgeons, pharmacists, nurses, and associate support staff.
Highlights indicate the following:
·HIV screening (18.6%)
·Laboratory Analysis (22.0%
·Eye Care (8.1%)
·Eye Surgery (0.6%)
·Surgical Operations (1.9%)
·Glasses Given (5.5%)
·Dental Care (3.0%).
The programme was a huge success as evidenced by jubilation when a male child was delivered on the second day of the event.
